Wine & Dine
Lovers of fine wine are fully aware of the Cape’s reputation for vintages of distinction.
As good wines always accompany good food, there are many notable restaurants to be found along the Cape’s numerous wine routes. Whether it’s the Durbanville Wine Valley on Cape Town’s doorstep, the mountainous Helderberg Wine Route, or the longstanding viniculture of the older Vergelegen wine estate or the Groot Constantia wine farm and Constantia wine route, there are wines aplenty for sale and a plethora of restaurants in which to enjoy them.
Down at the coast, lovers of seafood – a Cape specialty – won’t be disappointed by the many marine eateries to be found in Cape Town. Crayfish (lobster), fish, prawns, mussels and calamari, served in appetising ways, are famous for keeping tourists coming back for more.
