Oude Libertas Amphitheatre
The beautiful Stellenbosch winelands are an ideal setting for this ampitheatre, which regularly hosts a range of performances, including comedy, theatre and music. On the slopes of the Papegaaiberg, Oude Libertas is surrounded by vineyards and oak trees.
Every Saturday morning Oude Libertas hosts the Stellenbosch Slow Market, a gourmet and shopper's delight. The emphasis is on fresh organic produce, grown or raised in the surrounding area, in true slow food tradition. Wine, clothing and jewellery have also found their place at the market.
Entrance to the art gallery is free, and here established and up-and-coming artists exhibit their work. There are new installations every six weeks.
Conference and meeting venues are available, and the piazza and function hall make for a perfect wedding venue. A beautiful garden is ideal for taking wedding photographs, and is also a popular picnic site.
