Tucked under the welcome shade of massive oak trees at the southern end of Chapman’s Peak Drive lies the delightful Noordhoek Farm Village, which is open from 08h30 to 17h30 from mid-November to mid-March and from 09h00 to 17h00 during the rest of the year.

The village, in the scenic village of Noordhoek, comprises the Foodbarn (www.thefoodbarn.co.za), Café Roux (www.caferoux.co.za) and the Toad in the Village (www.thetoad.co.za) restaurants, plus two pubs, a children’s playground and an organic nursery. The village is also home to The Cellars Arts and Crafts Centre, an ATM, Caroline’s Health, Beauty and Wellness Spa, Manuka Wine Sales and Promotions, a Cape Town Tourism-accredited Visitor Information Centre, and antiques, clothing and crafts outlets.

The village is a favourite stopover for a hot cup of aromatic coffee and fresh bread, an early scrumptious breakfast under the oaks or an alfresco lunch in the sunshine. Linger longer and try some fine wines and creative cuisine, or see working artists in action, get down and dirty on a worm farm, chill with a massage and visit the four-star De Noordhoek boutique hotel (www.denoordhoek.co.za).

De Noordhoek offers guests a choice of 20 non-smoking double or twin en-suite rooms, including four pairs of interleading rooms and four rooms accessible by wheelchair. Conference facilities are also available in a variety of configurations catering for up to 38 delegates.
