Set amongst the beautiful Durbanville Hills, a mere 25 minutes north of the Cape Town city centre, one will find the family-run wine farm of Nitida Cellars. Visit Nitida on the last Saturday of every month for an added bonus to their offerings of fine wine and experience flavours and treats of an authentic farmers’ market - The “Nitida Degustazione” Farmers’ Market is the perfect place to experience the local fare on a working wine farm.
A long-standing Saturday tradition
Nitida Degustazione, is an authentic farmers’ market serving up everything one would expect to find. Join in the fun and sample some of the homemade wares and foods from around 50 different suppliers on the last Saturday of every month. Here you will be able to enjoy the tastes of Italy, Portugal and the East, all with a local source and twist. Don’t forget the local olives and award-winning olive oils.
A whole lot of good stuff
Regular stalls include the local butchery, purveyors of chilli products, a local diary with lovely farm butter, free-range eggs and chickens. There are exotic and locally harvested mushrooms, preserves & jams, biscuits & rusks, home baked pies, organic dried fruit and nuts, morning-baked bread, and home roasted coffee beans. Fresh coffee and tea are always brewing and can be accompanied by slices of decadent chocolate cake.
The market runs on the last Saturday of every month from 8:00 - 12:30.
