Moonlightmass Bicycle Ride
The Moonlightmass Bicycle Ride is a casual monthly cycle that brings together hundreds of people, who ride for fun or a worthy cause. Started by Daniel Graham and Elad Kirshenbaum in January 2012 as a social experiment on Twitter, the ride takes place during full moon every month at 21h00. It’s a great opportunity to ride with like-minded people and see Cape Town at night.
It’s easy to take part in the ride; all you have to do is show up with your bike.
The route starts at Green Point Circle around 21h00 and continues to Granger Bay Boulevard, onto Beach Road, then Mouille Point on Beach Road. It carries on up Three Anchor Bay Road to Green Point Main Road, and the riders eventually regroup at the bottom of Long Street. From there they cycle up Long Street, double back down Loop Street, and turn down Longmarket Street to the finish at Greenmarket Square.
The ride takes one hour and is 12km long.
