The Milnerton Playhouse
This intimate local Milnerton theatre lives by the credo that “theatre is alive and living in Milnerton Playhouse” and is tucked behind the Milnerton Library was built specifically as a home for a group of dedicated and hard working amateur dramatists - the “Milnerton Players’ Dramatic Society”.

The 100-seater theatre presents major productions throughout the year, and the first Friday nights of every month offer wonderful social gatherings – an ideal place to mingle with the creative set of Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs. The theatre is committed to producing shows that encompass a wide variety of theatrical genres and offer a vibrant and fun theatrical experience. Together with the support of the members of the Milnerton Players’ and the local community, this thriving theatre is a wonderful place to enjoy some independent and interesting theatre fun.
Origin of this species
The theatre was purpose-built for the Milnerton Players by the Milnerton Council in the late 1980’s and stands today as a fine example of community achievement and involvement. The theatre is well equipped with quality sound and wardrobe departments and together with the wonderful actors and actresses ensures that the venue lives up to it tagline of “bringing theatre to life”.
