Cape Sports Center

Wind sport at its best can be found on the turquoise water of the massive Langebaan Lagoon. The flat water offers great windsurfing and kitesurfing and is excellent for beginners.

An hour’s drive from Cape Town, along the West Coast, it makes perfect sense to head out early in the morning and rent a kayak to get up close to seals, penguins and birds. The Cape Sports Center rents out equipment, including surfboards, wet suits and mountain bikes. There is a surf shop which sells water sport clothing.

A look out platform offers great vists of the lagoon and all the action in the water and a small sandwhich deli sells snacks and cold drinks. After a day in the water you can have a hot shower.
