Let me tell you a little about the The Glam......

We are a small, young Boutique Accommodation nestled in the heart of the Central Business District of Cape Town, only steps away from Greenmarket Square, with 2 deluxe rooms and 3 standard rooms.

(Cape Town Tourism refer to us as a Boutique Hotel - very fancy description, but I prefer to leave the word hotel to those that have 15+ rooms.)

The decor is classic black and white with old Hollywood fabric pictures adorning the walls, with a splash of color here and there to take the clinical feel of white away. All our rooms are named after the 50's 60's and 70's movie stars.

The difference between the rooms is quite important as it can make or break a holiday if you choose incorrectly and cause unnecessary disappointment. Keep in mind that we are in one of Cape Town's oldest Heritage buildings – with building planning limitations.

The standard rooms are simple yet beautiful double bed rooms with white fresh linen, and plush black carpets. Each have dimmer light switches and chandeliers. These rooms only have a shower and no TV's. The standard are best offered to travellers or overnighters who just need a safe, clean place to lay their heads down and plan to be out 90% of the time and don't require a TV.

We have 2 bathrooms (male and female) for only the 3 standard rooms to share. Our guests always say as long as the shower is in the privacy of their room they don't mind the toilet and basin being elsewhere (very similar to a home without an en- suite bathroom).

The Deluxe rooms are my favourite - They have Queen size beds, white or black linen, plush black carpets. Each one also has dimmer light switches, chandeliers and Faux Crystal lamps. This room has a black porcelain modern open-plan shower, basin and toilet.

These rooms have flat screen TV's with DSTV channels. All the rooms have Tea and Coffee Trays..

There is a peaceful lounge and bar area, which has a TV for those that don't have a TV in their room. This lounge changes into the soul of a party should you hire the entire venue for a private party/function. Full Licensed bar and sound system to entertain.

Breakfast use to be included in the room rate but we found most people prefer to pay for it separately as half of them did not eat breakfast. A Simple breakfast which consists of a choice of cereal, toast, yoghurt, fresh fruit and tea/coffee is available.

We are also fortunate to have a lovely restaurant across the road. They do the full English breakfast as well as any other type of breakfast you can imagine and price wise its great..

For the business traveller or those on a tight budget, feel free to bring in your "Woolies" dinner in the evening if you are in Cape Town on business and don't want to sit alone in a restaurant. We will be only to happy to set the table, warm your meal up and ever serve you! No communal kitchen though – that's best left for backpacker establishments.

So, there is a little more of an idea as to what The Glam is all about.

Simply said, I decided to create a place that I would like to stay in: Simple, Affordable, extremely clean (OTT) , safe, peacefully quiet and central to everything in the city.
