Overview

Entertainment and celebration have always been big parts of African culture and the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ promises to be the most entertaining event ever on the continent, with football fans from around the world coming together to enjoy the beautiful game.

Those who do not have tickets for the matches at Cape Town Stadium can still enjoy the action and the atmosphere at various venues in and around Cape Town. These have been set up to screen matches and to entertain fans afterward.

The entertainment will continue long after the final whistle every night, with live entertainment and great after-parties planned.

The official FIFA Fan Fest at the Grand Parade, outside City Hall, can accommodate up to 25 000 fans and will screen all 64 matches free of charge. It will be open from 11h00 until 23h00 every match day. There will be a variety of live performances at this venue.

The Fan Walk, which fans can walk along between Cape Town Stadium and the FIFA Fan Fest, will also feature various forms of live entertainment.

For those hoping to stay out of any rain, the Cape Town International Convention Centre will show all matches on six large screens.

The V&A Waterfront, one of South Africa’s most popular visitor attractions, is a great place to watch live 2010 FIFA World Cup™ matches and enjoy various other forms of entertainment.

There are four official public viewing areas, which will screen matches on big screens and provide live entertainment before and after the matches.
